We’ve been speaking to many group leaders and we’ve discovered a few things that cricketers, in particular, have to keep track of when organising a trip to The Ashes.

The next Ashes is August 2019. That’s just under a year away, plenty of time to properly organise your group. But only if you’re taking advantage of all that time to properly herd the cats, err, players.

Here are 3 key aspects you’ll want to stay on top of to ensure you’re not stressed out and can enjoy the tour yourself;

1. Expressions of Interest (EOI)

Be sure to gather expressions of interest really early on. So they have it in their calendar and you can allow them to invite others. With YouLi, you can set up a personalised Travel Page with some basic info before you have everything planned, and then invite your audience and/or make it public so they can register directly. Then you can easily see who has expressed interest, who hasn’t responded and when they last looked at your Travel Page. EOI made easy.

2. Getting the Cash (and Commitment)

We all know these trips don’t happen without the money. No one likes to ask for it, but it has to be collected. With YouLi, you set the price, set the schedule and let the application automatically remind your travellers who have expressed interest that they need to put down a deposit to lock in their spot. Choose to automate completely with Stripe/Square/PayPal integration to accept credit cards or direct them to transfer to a bank account. Either way, keep track of who has paid all in one place.

3. Herding the Cats

Avoid being burnt out before your trip of a lifetime starts. Most of the group leaders we speak to end up losing track of long email chains and forgetting to transfer the information into their master spreadsheet. Why bother will all of that? Instead of giving yourself the extra task of response management, have your travellers do it for you. When you use a Travel Management Platform like YouLi, the responses from your travellers are automatically recorded and used for all future communications. You no longer have to search your inbox to see whether Frank has said he’s interested or paid his deposit.

There you have it. The 3 key steps to managing a successful and stress-free group tour. To find out how YouLi can make your organising easier, signup and request a demo.
