"The magic happens outside your comfort zone"
We’ve all seen the diagram and heard someone exclaim at the power of “getting outside your comfort zone”. But let’s be honest, there is often many good reasons to stay in your comfort zone. It can be scary out there and, depending on where you travel, it can be truly dangerous.
That’s why it is always better to take a little comfort with you on your journey in the form of other adventurous friends.
There are so many things I wouldn’t have done if not for the safety in numbers effect of fellow travelers.
That’s why I built YouLi, to make it easier to gather people I’ve met from around the world to tackle new adventures together.
I always find that the process of planning is half the adventure and having people to prepare and anticipate means I am sure to get out of my comfort zone when I go, because I know I have my tribe with me!
And when I have moments where I wonder “why am I going to spend 8 days without a shower, in the freezing cold, walking 4-12 hours a day?” I am both inspired by my fellow trekkers and reminded that I can’t back out now, I’d never live it down!!!
